Medicine Women
A soul project co-created by women, celebrating the divine feminine
“You are the medicine, woman,
If you dare to embody your healing,
If you step out of the life you had,
The life they tell you that you must lead,
And step with shaking faith, onto another path,
A path of healing,
Defined by your boundaries and needs…
You will step into the healing place.”
~ Lucy H. Pearce, Medicine Woman: Reclaiming the Soul of Healing

Believe it or not...
…the idea for The Medicine Women project came about from an intuitive calling. This is the story of how it unfolded…
The Divinatrix Way was born as a system of radical self-inquiry and self-acceptance, a creative collaboration with my soul sister - Manena Frazier.
Our first offering, The Divinatrix Archetype Deck uses seven major archetypes to explore the light and shadow of who we are, opening us to the possibility of truly beholding ourselves and others.
Medicine Women creates a bridge between healing and the arts, bringing together The Divinatrix Archetypes and 7 powerful women captured in photographic union with my bronze work by yet another incredible woman - Claudia Paul.
Each woman was chosen because she embodies the primordial energy and personifies the mythopoetic of my piece: innocent, lover, huntress, mother, queen, sage, mystic.

Boldly defying form and fear...
In a world that has conditioned us to be ashamed of nudity, and objectified women beyond what is innately natural and human, The Medicine Women reminds us to return to the ancient wisdom of our bodies and embrace our individuality, despite fear of judgement.
We can be both the object, and the subject of our own narratives, and while each one of us may relate more or less to a specific archetype, we may also see several of them reflected throughout the spectrum of our lives.
In participating in this project, each one of us has undergone a process of self-acceptance, and we sincerely wish the same for each viewer that encounters The Medicine Women.

What comes next…
The Medicine Women project is nearly complete with just two more images to shoot.
We are looking to raise support for the production of the final shots for:
◆ The Huntress, featuring the Feather Stool
◆ The Sage, featuring the Cannabis Stool
Upon completion, a show celebrating the participating woman and ALL women will follow, with prints and other items available for purchase.
